This Dalmatian island got its name after the dominant tree species that grows there: the holm oak. Nature plays a big role in the popularity of this island: the fragrances of local spices, the beautiful forests and the crystal clear blue sea.
The island also has a rich history and local tradition: you can see the show of »moreška« – the knights’ dance in original costumes, visit the house of Marco Polo or Saint Mark’s Cathedral, and enjoy the amazing food and local wine. You should also bring home with you a bottle of olive oil which has a unique floral flavor.
There are many campsites on Korčula, mostly on the eastern and southern coast. For those looking for mobile homes on Korčula, we would recommend campsite Port 9 by Aminess. It’s a fairly small campsite with less than 20 mobile homes, but their set up in an island-style village is really unique, especially the white and blue Marco Polo units. Pet-friendly mobile homes have 2 bedrooms and a covered terrace and they are tucked in the shade of the Mediterranean trees. With the capacity for 6 people they are perfect for families or groups of friends.
