Campsite Mon Perin: New wellness with pools and saunas

Mon Perin campsite has been one of the best campsites on the Adriatic for many years, and after being awarded the ADAC Superplatz title last year, it is now among the 190 best campsites in Europe. On 29th April they opened a wellness center for adults only with indoor and outdoor pools and saunas.

Camping in Bale

The Mon Perin campsite, about half way between Rovinj and Pula, is known for its beautiful beaches and clear sea, as it is set away from the larger coastal towns. The town of Bale is located about 6 km further inland.

Of the 320,000 overnight stays (+10%) recorded at the campsite in 2023, the largest number of guests came from Germany (45% of all overnight stays), followed by Slovenians and Austrians.

The campsite is divided into two areas: San Polo and Colone, each with over 2 km of varied beaches in pebble coves, and camping pitches with plenty of shade from oak trees and, in a small part, pine trees. There is a free shuttle service from the campsite to Bale several times a day, where you can walk through the narrow streets of the restored old town.

New Wellness Center with Saunas

In order to extend the season, the construction of a new wellness center started last year which is located near the Paleo Park with dinosaur models and the sports park. The opening of the wellness center took place on 29 April 2024.

Guests will have access to indoor and outdoor heated seawater pools, whirlpools, a sun terrace with sun loungers, Finnish and Turkish saunas, a tropical rain shower, a relaxation area and a beauty center for massages and other treatments. The spa will be for adults only (+18). Guests staying on Luxury Mare pitches, in mobile homes (40 m2 or more) and Porto Bus villas will have access to the swimming pool included in their stay, while other guests will be charged extra. Additional wellness facilities such as saunas, massages, and a beauty center will be available to all guests at an extra charge.

The campsite will also provide a conference center with a capacity of up to 300 people for various events, meetings and team buildings.

Pitches and mobile homes in campsite Mon Perin

Most of the pitches at Mon Perin are directly by the sea, so you are close to the beach no matter which pitch you choose. There are some large pitches (150m2) by the sea, equipped with water, drainage, a gazebo, private shower and barbecue. In recent years, new camping pitches have been built, the sanitary facilities have been renovated, and a large Paleo Park swimming pool complex with dinosaur models has been built.

Campsite Mon Perin offers modern and spacious mobile homes for rent. The basic model is the Deluxe for 4+2 people (32 m2), then there are larger houses of 40 to 60 m2 with large terraces. Last year, the San Polo Prestige mobile homes (42 m2) were added near the new wellness area and the outdoor swimming pool. Those are equipped with glazed terraces (36 m2) so that guests can enjoy them even on cooler days. All mobile homes are air-conditioned, have a fully equipped kitchen, one or two bathrooms, and some mobile homes also have a jacuzzi next to the terrace.

Dogs are allowed in the mobile homes for an extra charge.

Porto Bus Luxury Villas

The Porto Bus Villas are located at the southernmost part of the campsite. Two types of units are available:

The smaller villas for 4 + 1 persons (area 67 m2) with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and terrace with Jacuzzi.
The larger villas for 4 + 2 persons (125 m2), which have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen with lounge and a large terrace with a private heated swimming pool.

Dogs are allowed in these villas by prior arrangement.

Pools, Sports and Entertainment

Campsite Mon Perin has an amazing swimming pool complex, with pools in all possible shapes and sizes: There’s even one in the shape of a dinosaur! The pools are usually open from mid-May to mid-September, as the water in the larger pool is not heated, (but it is in the smaller pool, which is more of a hot tub).

There is plenty of entertainment for children since every part of the campsite has children’s play areas, inflatable playgrounds in the sea which are also free to use, SUP boards are available for rent, and there is also a surf school and a diving center. In the evenings, movie nights are held and guests can also watch the major sporting events, such as this year’s EURO 2024.

The campsite is very dog-friendly, with a dog beach, showers and a fenced area near the reception with agility equipment so that puppies can run around freely.

New floodlit sports courts for basketball, football, badminton and tennis were constructed last year. Use of all the sports facilities is free of charge for the campsite’s guests and this year, a unique mini-golf course will be added – the opening is scheduled for mid-May.

Mon Perin is an amazing campsite at an amazing location which offers guests an amazing experience that has just gotten even better. It’s a real gem of the western Istrian coast that people love to discover and then regularly return each year for a proper re-charge and relaxation.
