Camping Straško: a great place for a family vacation

When someone asks us which campsite we’d recommend for a family holiday, our common answer is camping Straško in Novalja on the island of Pag. Campers can find everything they could ask for there – a long pebble beach with sand in the bay and plenty of shade, spacious pitches, modern mobile homes, glamping tents and lots of fun for the whole family.

Campsite Straško

Straško is one of the best campsites in Croatia and has been regularly winning the Best Campsite Adria award. It spans on over 57 hectares and it can host about 6500 guests. There are several sports courts, playgrounds, a park and beach for dogs and an outdoor fitness available. Guests can also rent bikes, boats and SUP boards.

Pitches

The campsite offers spacious and shady pitches. All of the Premium and Gold pitches by the sea have electricity, water and drainage. Pitches are above average in size, so you can set up two tents on most of them. This year, new pitches will be built near sanitary facilities 6, 7 and 9 in the front part of the campsite. The upper third of the campsite is still unplotted, with electricity hookups (bring a long extension) and even water. In addition, the nearby toilet block 3 will be completely renovated in time for the main season.

Mobile homes

The mobile homes at camping Straško are mostly located on the right side of the campsite, near the swimming pools and sports center. There also are a few on the left side. Mobile homes are modern two- or three-bedroom units for 4-6 people with covered terraces. Adria mobile homes, the newest type, are located close to the sea. The Mediteran mobile homes, set in a form of a village, have shared swimming pools nearby. Dogs are allowed in most of the units for an extra charge.

Glamping

The glamping tents for 2, 4 or 6 people are located in the upper part – all tents have a bathroom, while the 4 and 6-person tents also have their own kitchen.

Park your vehicle and enjoy camping

Camping Straško allows guests to truly enjoy their holiday. The blue flag beach is pebbly, but about 10 meters from the shore you’ll be walking on sand. The abundance of shade is definitely an advantage of the beach at camping Straško. There is also no traffic on the road next to the beach and plenty of daily animation for children.

There are a couple of small pools on the right side of the beach. In addition, there is a small children’s slide next to the pools. You can find refreshments in one of the three cafés on the beach, including a renovated restaurant & pizzeria, right next to the sea, plus a patisserie and a large shop.

Children won’t get bored at the campsite, since they’ll make new friends in no time, and there’s a variety of activities organized for them every day: sports games, sea fun, cinema shows and a mini-disco in the evenings. Children can also visit the mini-zoo, which is set up at reception or the guided horse-riding tours, which take place just down the street from the campsite.

One of the biggest parties each year happens on the campsite’s birthday – in 2025 it will be on 5 August. There is also a fireworks display at sea every Tuesday in high season.
