Traveling with a pet is always exciting, both for them and for you, their owners. But it takes organization and preparation to make the trip as painless as possible. Here are a few tips to help you and your pet enjoy a happy and carefree vacation together.

Before you go

Before you even start planning your vacation, make sure your pet is physically ready to travel. The first step is to get him used to driving in a car.

Preparation is half the battle

Make sure you have all the necessary travel documents and check the current entry requirements for the country you are traveling to.

Your dog should have a pet passport and be microchipped or tattooed so that they can be identified in case of emergency. Also, put a phone number on your dog’s collar so you can be easily reached in case of emergency or if your dog gets lost.

Research veterinarians in the area and the cost of any treatments in advance. To avoid additional unexpected costs, we recommend that you arrange travel insurance.

What to bring

Make sure you have enough food and water for the entire trip, as we know that trips during the season can take much longer than expected. And so that your dog doesn’t have to get used to new food, bring enough food from home for the entire stay.

Also, pack a favorite toy or blanket and a bed for your dog to make him feel at home.

In case something unexpected happens, it is a good idea to bring a first aid kit with basic medicines and bandages. Don’t forget poop bags and a leash.

Choose the right accommodation

It is important to follow the rules of the campsite. Keep your dog on a leash when walking around the campsite, clean up after him and respect the nightly quiet.
