Renovation of Arena Stupice campsite – new mobile homes

Medulin and Premantura, in southern Istria, are two popular camping destinations, as they offer several campsites. One of these is Arena Stupice, a campsite located right next to Cape Kamenjak, easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. This winter there will be a renovation of the pitches by the sea and old mobile homes.

Every year guests return to the campsite because of its beautiful nature, mild climate, and proximity to Cape Kamenjak. There are many beautiful beaches in the cape area where it is possible to find a quiet place even in high season. The campsite is also completely pet-friendly. Dogs can stay on the pitches as well as in the mobile homes, and there is even a dog beach.

The campsite’s beach varies from pebble coves to rocky areas. There is a cove on the south side of the campsite that offers some shade. Premantura is also popular with wind and kite-surfing enthusiasts because of the excellent wind conditions.

Arena Stupice – the traditional campsite

In recent years, Arena Stupice has renovated the reception and some of the restrooms and paved some of the roads. However, the rest of the campsite has remained pretty much the same as it was 20 years ago. A thing that many traditional campers greatly appreciate.

In preparation for the 2025 camping season, which will start on April 12 and last until October 5, the pitches will be redesigned and all the old mobile homes will be replaced.

Redesign of pitches and replacement of mobile homes

The number of pitches will be slightly reduced (911 instead of 999), while the number of mobile homes will remain the same (110).

The mobile homes in Arena Stupice were very old, as the campsite was among the first in Croatia to introduce this still fairly new type of accommodation. The project involves replacing all 110 mobile homes with new ones and placing them in 2 zones.

There will be 62 new mobile homes on the waterfront, in the former 300 zone, and another 48 mobile homes in the central area, on the south side of the campsite.

All mobile homes will be very spacious. Each unit will include an interior space of 40 m² and another 17 m² of covered terrace. They will offer 2 bedrooms for up to 5 people, a living room with TV (an additional TV will be in the bedroom), and a fully equipped kitchen. In the kitchen there will be induction cooktop, dishwasher, microwave, and large refrigerator. One of the bedrooms will have a double bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom will have 3 single beds. There will also be another shared bathroom.

Guests will be able to use the lounge chairs on the terrace of the mobile home, and dogs can stay with them for an extra charge. The rental price includes bed linen, towels and final cleaning.

Other renovations

The renovation plan also includes the addition of a new children’s playground and renovation of the restrooms. Renovation of sanitary building 1 in zone 100 by the reception area has been confirmed. Renovation of the sanitary building 3 in Zone W, where most of the fixed-rate guests are located, is also planned. The sanitary facility 2 has already been renovated and it is expected that the others will also be updated in the near future.
