Late autumn camping in Croatia

Many campsites in Croatia stay open until late autumn, some even through the winter. We’ve checked the list of campsites open the week of 26 October – 2 November and added prices for our top picks for autumn camping in mobile homes.

Mobile homes are very popular during the late autumn holidays. Many people want the extra space and comfort, a solid roof over their heads, heating and a fully equipped kitchen, but still want to enjoy all the benefits of a campsite. Rental prices for mobile homes for 4 people are very reasonable at this time of year, starting from €60/night, and there is a great variety on offer.

As swimming in the sea this late in the year can be too much of an adrenaline rush for some, many people rent a mobile home with a jacuzzi or heated pool on the terrace.

Istria

Campsite Valamar Camping Istra, Funtana (open until 5.1.2025)

The campsite we recommend for late autumn and then for the New Year’s. The campsite has heated swimming pools and they plan to keep all pools and slides open until October 20, and afterwards the large relax and activity pools will remain open until October 31.

There is a small wellness area with Finnish sauna and massages next to the pools, and for children there is top-class entertainment, a cinema room, indoor games, a floodlit sports court, mini golf, outdoor playgrounds. The campsite also has several restaurants and a shop. Funtana and campsite Istra Premium is an excellent starting point for family cycling by the sea, as the routes to Poreč or Vrsar avoid the main roads. Along with well-equipped pitches and heated sanitary facilities, they also offer mobile homes for rent, and some of the mobile homes have their own heated swimming pool.

Campsite Porton Nature Hideouts , Rovinj (open until 4.11.)

Just a short walk from the center of Rovinj, campsite Porton Nature Hideouts offers beautiful views of the town and the peninsula with the Church of St. Euphemia, perched on a hill. To the left of the campsite are modern mobile homes, almost all of which have their own heated pool and offer plenty of privacy alongside the spectacular views. An added advantage is, of course, the proximity to Rovinj, which is full of interesting things to do at any time of the year.

Camping Mon Perin, Bale (open until 2.12.)

Another campsite that surprises with new features almost every year. This spring, they opened a new wellness center for adults only. It features indoor and outdoor heated seawater pools, a whirlpool, an outdoor terrace with sun loungers, Finnish, infrared and Turkish saunas, a tropical rain shower, a relaxation area, a fitness center and a beauty center where you can get a massage. Great location for cycling, there is also a new sports center available. The mobile homes at this campsite are very diverse, some with their own jacuzzi, and you can also rent villas with jacuzzi or private pool.

Campsite Arena Stoja, Pula (open all year)

Campsite Arena Stoja will be open all year round again this year, thanks to the construction of the new heated sanitary facility. The campsite is located close to the center of Pula, which is also served by a public bus. The campsite comprises an entire peninsula, 2.5 km of beach and plenty of trees and greenery. It has been renovated in recent years, with new pitches and modern mobile homes, earning it a 4-star rating this year.

Campsite Arena Grand Kažela, Medulin (open until 4.11.)

The campsite offers plenty of sunshine, which is definitely welcome in autumn. However, this year this campsite will only be open until 4 November. Like the other Arena campsites, the Arena Grand Kažela is undergoing a renovation later on. They offer modern mobile homes set on the landscaped pitches by the sea, and some of them have their own private swimming pool. There is a children’s playground, an indoor games room and the town of Medulin is very close by. The location is interesting for cycling and visiting Cape Kamenjak.

Campsite Banki Green Istrian Village, Banki (open until 15.11.)

The campsite is located in the inland of Istria, in the town of Banki, not far from Tinjan. It is a campsite with an exceptional offer of swimming pools and jacuzzis next to the mobile homes and glamping tents, and a wellness area, which has been renovated this year, as was the restaurant. The surrounding area is very interesting no matter the seasons and also ideal for exploring by bicycle.

Kvarner

Campsite Tiha Šilo, Island of Krk (open until 3.11.)

Nice campsite on the quiet eastern part of the island, overlooking mainland Kvarner, where the beach (now with a separate area for dogs) has recently been renovated. The surrounding area is ideal for cycling and walking, especially outside the high season, and there is also a tennis court on site. They offer a variety of mobile homes for rent as well as the well-kept pitches, most of which are by the sea.

Campsite Omišalj, Island of Krk (open all year)

This 5-star campsite which upgrades its offer every year, boasts probably the most unique characteristic of all campsites on Krk: It has its own zoo! Some of the animals roam free, others are kept in enclosures, and the staff organizes animal feedings and educational workshops for children and adults. Campsite Omišalj has plenty of sunny pitches and modern sanitary facilities. There are also mobile homes for 4-6 people at the edge of the campsite, a sports center, children’s playground and a games room.

Campsite Čikat, Mali Lošinj (open all year)

Winner of international awards, this is the ideal campsite for families. Plenty of space, a wide range of pitches and mobile homes, a sports center, numerous hiking and cycling possibilities and the proximity of Mali Lošinj (20 minutes on foot) are some of the reasons to come to campsite Čikat for the late autumn holiday. The swimming pool will be closed, but guests can use in the pool in the hotel in Veli Lošinj (extra charge).

Dalmatia

Campsite Falkensteiner Premium, Zadar (open all year)

If you want to visit Zadar, campsite Falkensteiner Premium is the right choice for your holidays. Well-kept pitches, mobile homes for 2-6 people and a wellness center with saunas and a small heated pool, available free of charge but only for adults. Families can enjoy swimming in the hotel’s heated swimming pool – extra charge € 10 per person, € 5 for children 6-12 years. From 31 October to 3 November they organize activities throughout the day.

Campsite Šimuni, Island of Pag (open until 15.11.)

Winner of numerous awards: Šimuni campsite is a great choice at any time of the year, even in late autumn. With a number of new features every year, a recently opened adrenaline park, and the beautiful landscape of the island of Pag itself to captivate any serious or recreational cyclist, there’s no shortage of activities to keep you busy. They also have an indoor games room, and the campsite restaurant will be open.

Campsite Ugljan, Island of Ugljan (open until 3.11.)

A small campsite, the only one on the west side of the island of Ugljan, is situated right next to a beautiful bay and a well-kept beach. Many of the pitches are sunny, and modern mobile homes for 2, 4 or 6 people are available. The location is interesting for quiet holidays, walks and cycling.

Campsite Jezera Lovišća, Island of Murter (open until 3.11.)

On the beautiful island of Murter, which has an excellent north-Dalmatian position and, despite being an island, you don’t need to take a ferry as it is connected to the mainland via a bascule bridge, you will find Jezera campsite, which is situated on the eastern side, overlooking the mainland of Tisno. The campsite has an excellent beach and many activities, and you can choose from pitches, mobile homes, rooms and apartments. From 28 October 28 to 3 November, camping is free on all pitches, guests only pay the check-in and tourist fee.

Campsite Stobreč, Split (open all year)

The best campsite near Split – and not just because it’s the only one! For example, this year most of the old mobile homes have been replaced with new ones. It has won numerous awards, including the best campsite for dogs in Croatia by the Dutch ACSI association. The campsite has a wellness center with saunas, jacuzzis and massages, as well as a gym. A great location for sightseeing in Split, as there is a city bus directly from the campsite.

Campsite Almissa (ex. Galeb), Omiš (open until 10.11.)

The campsite at the town of Omiš and the mouth of the Cetina River is a real Dalmatian pearl. A sandy beach, a spectacular river canyon with many adrenaline activities and hiking nearby, and an excellent range of mobile homes that have been upgraded over the years – including a range of homes with a jacuzzi on the terrace.

Boutique Campsite Bunja, Island of Brač (open until 3.11.)

A small campsite on the northern side of the island of Brač, just a few kilometers from the ferry port in Supetar. A peaceful campsite with a swimming pool and pebble beach, and beautiful views. Extended season to allow camping even during the late autumn for those who want to catch the real pulse of Dalmatia just before the winter season. Great location also for cycling trips around Brač and visiting the Mount of St. Vid.
